First base is a top-heavy group this year, but it’s also one with plenty of depth. You can wait a long while on this position if you miss out on the elite plays. Speaking of, Jorge has been vetoed by myself and Micah on the top pick, but Bellinger vs. Freeman is splitting hairs by ADP. Personally, I think we are getting a solid discount on Bellinger in 2021. He’s fallen a couple of spots recently due to November shoulder surgery, but he’s reportedly ahead of schedule in a 10-week recovery. There’s also the possibility of a delayed start to the season, which would only give Bellinger more time to get healthy.
There are a few guys here to worry over a bit given that we don’t have clarity on the universal DH–Dominic Smith and Jake Cronenworth head that list up for me. Hopefully Major League Baseball will fix that for us soon…in the meantime, hit us up in the comments and tell us who is too high or too low on which player!
